It has been a very good week on the fishing front with 26 grilse caught ranging from 3lbs - 8lbs. We were helped with high water for most of the week which meant the river was fishing very well indeed. Quite a few of the fish have now moved up into the lochs so next week it will be time to get the boats out!

Well the long wait is finally over and we are about to find out whether Gavin Christie and Nigel Greenhill can step up to the plate and deliver? There has certainly been much chat in the run up to the main event but now the talking is over and we await the arrival of the 2 athletes onto the Island. Their plane lands in Stornoway tomorrow lunchtime and their charity challenge will begin the following morning. It will consist of a 1.5 mile swim, 40 mile bike ride and finally a 27 mile marathon.
